Community Service – WHO We Serve

The Bloom Closet

When children are removed from their homes by the Department of Family and Children’s Services, they are confused and often at the lowest time of their lives. If that’s not hard enough, nine out of ten of them arrive into the foster care system with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They deserve to feel and look like the best child they can be.

Bloom gets to work on that immediately. That’s why The Bloom Closet was created. The Bloom Closet provides Georgia’s foster children with free clothing, shoes, baby gear, books, toys, and school supplies. Items are either new or gently used. The environment is that of a whimsical children’s boutique. At The Bloom Closet, our mission is to make foster children feel special. Because they are.

Newnan-Coweta Boys and Girls Club

The Newnan/Coweta Boys & Girls Club works with hundreds of kids and teens each year to help them reach their full potential. We provide an environment where all youth feel safe and secure to dream, discover, and develop. Our programs focus on helping kids succeed in school, live healthy, and become leaders.

Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity

In 2008, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America Foundation partnered with Habitat for Humanity to engage in a special community service project – Rebuild America. The goal of this fundraising and construction campaign with our community partners is to provide refurbished and/or newly-constructed homes for economically-disadvantaged families. Since the inception of Rebuild America, Jack and Jill members have committed thousands of hours and dedicated funds to meet the goal of building 7 homes across the country – one in each of Jack and Jill’s regions.

Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc.

Since 1971, the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. has stood as a bastion of hope for victims of Sickle Cell and other abnormal hemoglobin. Generous supporters, a dedicated staff, a dynamic Board, and caring volunteers make the Foundation and all of its programs and services possible. Each donation, no matter how large or small, carries a Sickle Cell patient one step further to breaking the Sickle Cell Cycle.
